Changes in July

While in Oregon, we got to follow our grandson Colby, at a golf tournament.

On the Fourth of July, we went to the St. Paul Rodeo with Marc & Maria.
It was great!  Loved it!

We were lucky enough to be able to go to Sunriver with Marc and Maria.
The weather was gorgeous!

Time with Brandon and Karen on the Columbia waterfront.

Next we headed to Victoria, British Columbia with Brandon, Karen, Ben and Anna

This is the gorgeous Craigdarroch Castle.
We took a tour – Really interesting.

The Butchart Gardens…. A must see when in Victoria.

The flowers are beyond words.  Such a labor of love.

Our little Anna…… on a carousel horse.  (getting ready for High School this fall)

Worn out…..  lots of walking  😊

Now the main reason we went to Victoria.  Ben was racing in a regatta.
Here he is #3 in a four man boat.

He is the #2 man in this double.

The famous Empress Hotel

This is the provincial capital building.  Victoria is the Provincial capital of British Columbia.

After our return from Canada, we had to make a quick B-Line to Southern California.
Mike is having a Total Knee Replacement and has to be back for pre-surgery appointments.

Outdoor Resorts looks beautiful.  No flowers but the golf course is green and ready for players.
No players…… it’s hot.

This fella doesn’t let the heat bother him.

Yes – that is 120 degrees.  (That’s in the shade)
But it’s only 90 inside !!
YIKES!

Thank goodness, we have some friends that are letting us stay in their home while they are away for the summer.  (Only 3 miles from ORI)
We will probably be here for a month or 6 weeks after Mike’s surgery.

The day is finally here..  Tuesday July 30th.  Mike’s surgery day.
He is so excited about getting this taken care of.
He is doing great!  Doing his exercises, icing, waking around.  The whole works.
He starts Physical Therapy on Friday.

June 2019

We have been on the move most of June…..
We started out in Indio, traveled to Tucson, AZ…then on to Las Cruces NM, then north to Santa Fe NM.  Next, we headed up to Colorado Springs, then on to Denver where we spent 3 days.

We had a great time catching up with Mike’s aunts, uncles and cousins.

Then we moved further up north to Casper WY then on to our friends Bob and Jill Wolf’s home in Cody Wyoming.  Kim and Alice surprised us
and the 6 of us had a great time.
We loved Cody.

We spent 3 days taking in the sites.

Then off further north to Anaconda MT then on to Post Falls.
Montana is gorgeous.

Lake Couer d’Alene, ID

We spent 3 great days in Post Falls with Tom Kelly and Michele.

We were sorry that we couldn’t meet with my sister-in-law here, but she was out of town at her grandson’s high school graduation.

Next, on to Moses Lake WA for another 3 days.

Next we headed to White Salmon WA for Brandon’s race.

Brandon ran 40 (yes I said forty) miles up and down every hill around, sometimes as high as 7,000 feet elevation.

After 3 days in White Salmon, we moved west to Brandon and Karen’s home in Vancouver, WA.

Anna has graduated from 8th grade into high school.
At her graduation assembly, Anna was awarded the Jason Lee outstanding Spanish student for the year.  She also received the presidential award for having a 4.0 throughout her middle school time….. also she was nominated as one of five students for the Jason Lee class act award.

We had a great time while in Vancouver but had to cut it short as we are heading back to Indio for Mike’s knee replacement this summer.

We find ourselves now in Aurora, OR where we are visiting Marc and Maria  for a few weeks.  We spent a lovely day wine tasting in Dundee (a great wine area)  We have traveled through 9 states so far.

May 2019

A sibling convertible ride….

Mike, his sister Pat and his brother Chuck

And a stop at “Fox's” pub on the river

The last “Jeep Ride” of the season was the Back Road to Big Bear.
Beautiful ride…… the Yucca trees were all in bloom.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, we had one last potluck.  We had a good turnout
And a fun time.

All these little babies following mom toward the lake.

Bad News… Mike has been hobbling around with pain in his knee for a couple
of months.  After a cortisone injection, ice, months of inactivity, and an MRI,
The doctor diagnosed the problem and determined the only way to relieve his pain is a total knee replacement.   Scheduled for August.

A visit from Chuck and Eva…… they were on their way to a cruise out of Longbeach.

Toward the end of the month, we closed up our Indio lot and headed out.
First stop – Tucson, AZ……. The next night, we were in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

After a night in Santa Fe NM, we headed north and into Colorado.

Spending several nights in the Denver area near Mike’s uncle
was great catching up on old times.
One evening, Uncle Don, Mike and Janet, went to a car show.
These motorcycles were incredible.

Can you see the gas prices up on the wall……  Those were the good ol’ days!

The cars were incredible.  Great evening.

Our travels continue into June……. Stay Tuned !!

Our winter season is winding down

After much looking, we have decided on a move to Yuma, Arizona.
We have purchased a lot at Country Roads RV Village and are excited about
A new phase of our lives…..
The lot is plain….right now.  That means we can landscape to fit our lifestyle.
We won’t’ be moving until the first of December but are already making plans.

A visit from two lovely “Stagecoach” gals.
Our Granddaughter Camryn and her roommate Aubree.

One of three nights at the Stagecoach Country Music Festival

One last stop at “In & Out” before heading back to college
A great visit with our dear Camryn and her roommate Aubree

Our “Last of the Mohicans” Potluck.
