Summer is on it’s way…..

Marc & Maria gifted us with an unexpected cruise to Alaska !

Flying into Seattle, we went very close to Mt Ranier

We met John & Sheri, old friends Ron & Jan as well as Pat & Rollie
for this great cruise

In Juneau, we visited the “Red Dog Saloon”, famous for their
Duck Fart drinks  (Mike had two)

Next we stopped at the Alaska Brewing Company

COLD !!   Ice everywhere……. The black dots on the ice
are seals..

Sawyer Glacier – Awesome…. So beautiful

In Sitka, we took a city historical tour…very interesting.

So much beauty in Alaska

Back in Seattle the sun is shinning….

April is over – Where did it go???

The great Solar Eclipse

This was about all we could see from Yuma,,,
still very impressive

Another celestial event – A shuttle taking off from Vandenberg air base

Outlaw Karaoke – slowly winding down

Folks are leaving in droves

At church, we are studying the “End Times”
VERY interesting……
It’s coming..look around.

Busy Month……Spring is Here!!

We started the month going to see the Marine Corps
Drum & Bugle Corps and the Silent Drill Team

Wow !  They were spectacular !!

The Golf club had an outstanding end of the season dinner

We attended a surprise luncheon for our neighbor and friend
Linda Tucker.

Outlaw Karoke at its best……fun!

Yep – this is where we live at the corner of
Party Time and Happy Days!

This is Mike leading a Jeep group out in the desert..
Funny thing – a road grader backed into him!
It wrecked his front bumper and his winch.

Pat & Rollie in the Easter/St.Patricks Day Parade

Country Roads had an “offroad car show”
(Lots of Jeeps)

And more Jeeps….

The “Voices of Vets” gave a short concert at Country Roads.
They were phenominal!

Bill & Smitty are leaving Country Roads… Moving up to the Phoenix area
They will be missed

River boat snacks on the Colorado River

The Convertible took a three day trip up to Laughlin, Nevada
Gambling, A boat ride on the Colorado River and a car museum

The flowers are in bloom…..It’s SPRING!!

We had a 3 day Elvis Palozza here at Country Roads……

Elvis’s from all over the US.

This fella was the star of the show
He was phenominal!

The Convertible Group took a run to Borrego Springs (about 2 ½ hour from here)
After a quick stop for lunch, we started out looking for sculptures

There are hundreds of sculptures…..Some huge…some small

This one is about two stories high …..And his tail is on the other side of the road 

Not at all animals……how about this Jeep?

We took a trip up to Indio (our old stomping grounds)

for a good friend’s 80^th Birthday Party
It was over the top!

Our friend doesn’t like the idea that he is 80…..so he called
it the 38^th anniversary of his 42^nd Birthday

“42” sounds much better than 80!

These professional dancers were moving so fast this is the best I could do.

The Quilt Club I belong to, put on their yearly Quilt Show.

It was great!  A real success!

The star of the show (Best in Show) was this beautiful quilt.
Such outstanding workmanship !

Mike’s cousin from Colorado was in Yuma and had Pat & Rollie and
Mike & I over for lunch.
Great to see Len & Gloria each year when they come thru !

January…Come and Gone????

Already????

What is with my “Desert Plant”?

This plant is supposed to grow for several years, then bloom..
After the bloom, it is supposed to die and go to seed.

Well, it bloomed last summer…but it never died.
I cut off the bloom (waiting for it to die) but it never did.

Now in the middle of winter, it has decided to bloom again ????
Love this plant.... It is beautiful !

Mike spent an afternoon at the Sand Drags with the fellas

After decorating for this “Material Girls” Brunch
We paused to take a look at our efforts

 Our “Material Girls” BUM Fab Reveal was so much fun!

Once a year, we are given a small bit of material and
our job is to make something cute.
(BUM Fab stands for Butt Ugly Material)
I think they did a great job…..These are the three top entrees. 

Mike played in a 3.0 Pickleball tournament,
He came home with a silver medal!
Not bad for an old man!

While on a dirt road leading to the Jeep trail  a Road Grader backed into Mike.
The driver said "I didn't see you"
Will need a new bumper and Winch.

The sunsets in Yuma are amazing!
