What a Screwy Month!?!

We started out August
1st headed for Oregon in our Mustang convertible
(We called it our
topless trip) It was slated to be a
month long trip to Oregon, visit for a while, then down the Oregon coast and on
down the California coast, then back to Yuma!
We were making the trip with Mike’s sister and her husband!
Great plan!
Once we hit Oregon,
we stopped at The Lake of the Woods for a visit with the Hogue’s.
We stayed with Rick
and Judy and also enjoyed a visit with Neil and Leslie too.

Lots of smoke in
southern Oregon… the fires rage on
So sad….
More highway smoke….
Near Klamath Falls…
Colby is heading off
to college.
Such an exciting time
in his life.
Went to a Portland
Timbers Soccer game with Marc & Maria.
What fun…..just like
the old days.
Great game… The timbers won!!
She says she won’t,
but I know Anna is going to miss Ben.
Ben heads off to
Montana State.
Sweet 16…. Anna will
be heading off to college in just a few years.
Brandon & Karen’s
dogs LOVE their neighbors!
(They know where the
treats come from)
The St. John’s bridge…..
a Portland iconic landmark.
AND THEN GUESS WHAT
HIT THE FAN!?!
Mike’s sister called
us to say she had come down with Covid-19.
We had spent some time with her just a few days before, so we thought
we should test ourselves.
I was negative but
Mike tested positive.
Now what should we do?
We were just ½ way
into our trip.
We went to Mike’s
other sister’s.
They were exposed the
same time as us.
They were both negative.
We had no choice…….
We headed south to
Yuma.
Mike was not sick,
just a cough. He was vaccinated.
I remained negative.
Two very long days of
driving and we were home in Yuma.
Several Covid tests and
two weeks later, Mike’s sister who tested positive in Oregon,
and who was very, very sick, finally tested negative. Hooray!
Mike & I have
been pretty much quarantined here at home.
But it has been 17
days, so he is not contagious any more.
How crazy?
The humming birds are
loving having us home!
Things are quiet here
in Yuma….not too many people here.
Life is good!
