March 2019

A busy month in the desert….

Our “Topless” (Convertible) group takes runs twice a month.
In March, Mike and I organized a trip to Temecula for a
Wine Tasting and Lunch.  A fun time was had by all.

The rains this winter made for a colorful spring.

The different colors are magnificent

The March Coachella Valley Quilt Guild had a fabulous speaker
And many of his original designs.

We met up with Mike’s cousin and her fella, Len for a great,
catch up with family updates lunch
at Shields Date Farm

The Date farm has beautiful grounds…. We took a tour.

One weekend in March, we drove south to El Centro
For their “Blue Angels” air show. (they even had a car show too)
El Centro is the winter home of the Blue Angels.

There were so many acts but the highlights were of the Blue Angels
They were incredible.  An awesome show!!

Back at ORI, we took in the Bernie and Red Show.
These two are my all time favorite entertainers.
They are very talented musically and oh so funny too!

Our second Topless cruise of the month took us up to Lake Arrowhead
About 6,000 feet up in the mountains.  It was beautiful

An offroad Jeep trip took us out into the desert,
where the flowers were beautiful.

The Pickleball club ended the season with a great party.
Such fun people!

Mike and I attended the Thrive Conference at our church.
It was a two day conference that was phenomenal.

In addition to two days of outstanding speakers,
the music was incredible.

We rounded out March with a two day visit to Yuma.
Mike was very disappointed that the doctor said no more running
on his already bad knee.  He really wanted to do one more marathon…..
It was not meant to be…..  But while out to dinner, we found a marathon
he could finish…..  He bought a 26.2 marathon beer.
So much better than beating up his knee     😊
